Your thoughts are important..

Hi everyone

I'd appreciate your thoughts on breeding my mare, "Gala". I am breeding strictly to race.

My personal breeding theory with Nijinsky mares is they do well with descendants of Mr. Prespector.

Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

Where are you located? What price range are you looking for?

Pure Prize is interesting for this mare on account of him being by Storm Cat (a very good nick with Nijinsky as evidenced by the G1 Winners Grand Armee, Johannesburg, High Yield, Nebraska Tornado, Black Minnaloushe, Madcap Escapade, Sky Mesa, Footstepsinthesand, Good Reward, Tale of the Cat, and Meisho Bowler) and Seeking the Gold (a very good nick with Nijinsky as evidenced by the G1 Winners Heavenly Prize, Shamekha, Of What A Windfall, Pleasant Home, and Lujain).

It would also be 4x4x4 to Nijinsky through three good sources of him; which may be okay if your mare isn't too stamina oriented or shares significant faults with Pure Prize...

Thanks for your advice dear IIbean. I live in Turkey and "Gala" will give birth from "Eagle Eyed" in March 2006. Even if Pure Prize is in the USA, I could go for "Mountain Cat" (son of Storm Cat).

Best-

I don't suppose I could sweet talk you into going to Strike the Gold can I? I really loved that horse. He was the first one I ever picked in the Derby and goes and wins. And I really loved watching him win the Pimlico Special from so far back. He's a grandson of Raise A Native so not exactly a direct Mr. Prospector connection but he's got an important piece of the puzzle. I wish they could get him back but that stud in Turkey just won't part with him. Old Friends has been trying to get money together to bring him over for retirement. He's also the broodmare sire of Borrego.
