Hi
Using my race factor numbers, which are based on the Modern Conduit Mare Profiles, I hit a $2 exacta at Tampa Bay today for $1127.80. I most often play a 4 horse superfecta or trifecta box, and back it up with a 4 horse exacta box ($48 wager), and usually make 2 to 4 bets a day. My superfecta ran 1st, 2nd, 4th and 5th. The winner was 50-1, and the 2nd place horse was 16-1. I was quite excited when the 50-1 shot came rolling late to win. Three-year-old Maiden fillies. I love having TVG. Pick out the races I want to play and sit at home and watch.

Thats fine Bill but wheres the champagne? Have you been watching the TVG and HRTV coverage of the Cheltenham Hunt Racing Festival live from England? Theres no crowd noise or mayhem from the winners circle area! Whats up with that? Its like watching the Beatles sing "She loves You" without the music.

Got any proof of that winning ticket? Some kind of receipt or maybe some data from your TVG account?
I've read many posts from many handicappers claiming to "hit it big", but for some odd reason they never seem to post their picks BEFORE THE RACE. I'm particularly cynical when it comes to those proclaiming big wins at the same time touting their book.
I'll take the stance of those from Missouri, The SHOW ME state.

Oh Whirlaway. Whenever I've hit a really big one, I picked it in the paddock just before the race and there was simply NO TIME to rush to a computer and let my pals in on the secret.
Besides, I think one way to lose friends is to offer betting advice.
Bill posts his method. While I believe he has complete faith in it, and mey eventually get quite rich with it, I don't believe he would try to convert the world to using it. Anyhow, it was a simple matter to locate the results of the race:
http://www.equibase.com/premium/eqbPDFC ... =10&BorP=B
and the Exacta did indeed pay $1127. VERY large for an exacta (I believe I once hit one for $1223, but two or three digits are much more common).

I prefer to be happy for someones good fortune and to sit down and shut up otherwise. Bill from W A is a steadfast contributor to this board with lots to offer for anyone interested. The only reason that he would post a headline like this is from the sheer joy of reaching the mountaintop. Its like training a winner and owning one that you raised.......its a miracle and you jump for joy! So Whirlaway dont be so cynical and try to walk in anothers shoes for once, sometimes it can feel pretty good!

That Missouri sure is a tough state!
Years ago I was at Daytona Beach during spring break and these college babes were driving down the beach and a bunch of guys surrounded their jeep and made them come to a halt and proceeded to chant, "SHOW ME, SHOW ME, SHOW ME, hoping the girls would pull down their tops. Well ... there are four big races tomorrow w/free past performances. I guess maybe there you can show us what you've got.
My buddy Larry said, "give me the facts man, prove it. If you cant prove it, don't tell me that's the way it is."

Gotham:
6/7,11
Rebel:
10,1,5
San Felipe:
3,5,1
TBDerby:
3,4,7/8
In the Gotham I thought the workouts of the four and eight proved interesting. Number four getting blistering w/outs on the training track; from what I've read deduct one second for the tr.t. Number eight getting a bullet 5fl work, then two 7fl works the last one, solid.

My Dear Mr. Whirlaway
I just wanted to pass on the news that I won't be participating in your little challenge. Although I am very interested in the races, and their outcome, I won't be wagering on any of them, and since I won't be betting, and will not go to the trouble of running profiles on the entries. The profile wagering is very selective; maybe one to four races a day. I look for races, with 8 or more entrants where at least a few are being asked to do something that they have never done before, as to distance, surface, or perhaps a few lightly raced individuals with a chance to improve. I find that Maiden races work well.
As to posting my choices beforehand, I have done this many times. I had a free picks page on my web site for a couple of months where my top pick won 12 out of 15 races. I posted my picks on Bago's 'Arc, and picked the superfecta in that race.
I don't know how long you have been involved in this game, but I have been around horses all my life. My father was an Officer in the Cavalry, serving under General Pershing. I was born on a working cattle ranch and had my own horse at 5 years of age. I bet on my first race in 1948, and have seen a lot of great horses run, from Coaltown to Native Diver, to Chinook Pass to Skywalker. I bought my first race horse at auction in 1967, and I have been privileged to learn from some of the top historians and pedigree experts that have ever lived.
My post on the race at Tampa Bay was out of excitement, as Madelyn so graciously observed, and a feeling of validation for thousands of hours of research and years of study. I was working on a pedigree analysis for a client, and, taking a break, spotted a race that I felt would fit the profile handicapping method perfectly, and got the bet in just two minutes before post time.
I can understand your skepticism, but when someone challenges my veracity and integrity, it raises my hackles. I will be posting my Derby and Belmont picks before those races are run. And, borrowing from American Idol's Simon Cowel, I don't mean to be rude, but I don't have to "SHOW YOU" diddly squat.
Regards,
Bill
