Louisiana Stallion Recs

Postby johnrr88 » Thu Apr 13, 2006 3:18 pm

Hi All:
I have a nice young mare in Louisiana who won a little money, got off to a promising starrt as a sprinter but then succumbed to throat/ palate problems and that was that.
She is: Grain of Salt ....by Salt Lake ex Deletante.

I bred her to Gold Regent last year but now I'm looking for a Louisiana stallion.

has anyone seen Kimberlite Pipe's foals? (His fee has really plummeted so I'm a little scared to touch him) Any other recommendations or ideas?

Thanks John

If you were to stay in Texas i would breed her to Special Rate. (Pulpit- Viviana by Nureyev) AP Indy and Pulpit have both had good success with Deputy Minister line mares. The resulting Nick with Special Rate- Grain of Salt is an A++. Special Rate is a half to Sightseek and Tates Creek and was is a Stakes winner.

second the Kimberlite Pipe Query. Would be interested to know if anyone has seen him in person or has one of his foals.

As a Texan, I cannot comment on the stallion in Louisiana. However, I have personally seen Special Rate. He is a very handsome horse. He has a sound pedigree, and an A++ nick might be something to seriously consider. Check him out on the KeyRanch.com website. Good luck with whatever you decide.

John

I have a beautiful stallion named MUSTANG JOCK by Wild Again and o/o an Easy Goer mare. He is stakes placed. JOCK crosses very well with your mare. He stands at the Running R Ranch in Opelousas. JOCK is very correct and balanced. He came from the track about a month ago and started a bit late in the breeding shed so we decided to stand him this year for $500. Next year it will be $1500. If interested call Rob Redding at 337-288-0545. The response in Louisiana has been phenomenal!! In less than a month and only word of mouth we have booked around 30 mares.

I hope you give JOCK some consideration. Thanks

Allen

Without looking at your mare as far as the best two stallion prospects I like in La are Wildcat Shoes & Erlton. Erlton is out of a DM mare so he may not be an option you may want to look at but then again you may like that. Storm Day is also very usable.
