However, the owner has put him up for the Bosselman/Gus Fonner S. at 1 1/16mi on the dirt, on April 29th, with a $100,000 purse
! He is in post position #7, race #9, set to leave the gate at 5:14pm CST.
I know nothing about Fonner Park, or about the competition. But I suspect he can be competitive in such a race. Wouldn't that be a shocker, if he were to become stakes-placed and/or win a big purse for his owners, and substantially improve the catalog page for mama and me?
I was able to catch the race at Remington Park, though no one else was watching Fonner Park. The bartender was nice enough to help me tune it in. The race went off about 25 minutes late, perhaps because of an earlier rain. The track was listed as "good", which usually means it's drying out from a recent shower.
Then we started to see some of the pacesetters fall back, and here came the only gray horse in the race into the picture and quickly into fifth 
, fourth 
and came running. One passed him easily to win in the final strides
