
I was able to catch the race at Remington Park, though no one else was watching Fonner Park. The bartender was nice enough to help me tune it in. The race went off about 25 minutes late, perhaps because of an earlier rain. The track was listed as "good", which usually means it's drying out from a recent shower.
All eight horses raced, and as I predicted, there was a speed duel up front involving four horses. Motion Approved, who is a stalker, trailed them in fifth, and when the duel softened them up, the front-runners all dropped back. He briefly gained the lead and was passed by the second favorite, Wally's Choice, who is a closer. Here's the result:
