The only symptom he had was a runny nose. Since he was run down I suppose it could have been anything. If it was colic I'd think he'd have shown more distress but he seemed fine otherwise. I might think maybe a nasty case of pneumonia or a heart problem could kill that fast under the stress of shipping. I don't know if they did a necropsy or not, its expensive and it won't bring him back. I don't know why they chose that home over the others, they must have had their reasons, it is a long way for an old run down horse to ship. (although the ride to slaughter is pretty long too! at least he was spared that)
