hi austique...hello Derby2004

You've included him on your Top 10 lists...and I expect that Omega Code (who stands for $7,500) has the makings to potentially reach the heights as a sire.

Every foal that I've seen by him (thus far) is in a plain brown wrapper...looks the part...and stands-up to scrutiny (from my perspective anyway).

He could become one of those young Florida sires that's destined for the Big-time. That said...it's probably even-money that the bluegrass is in his future.

Best to you.

Respectfully

Austique, yet again you have a good list. My only objections are:

1. Pleasantly Perfect, Due to the whole Behrens incident, I'm kind of shakey on a Pleasant Colony stallion. The only that I hold regards for is Pleasant Tap. But he was a great racehorse, maybe he could turn it around for his sire. But overpriced at 40k.

2. I was an absolute huge fan for Peace Rules. I think he can be comapred to Pollards Vision in his race style. He showed a lot of heart everytime he touched the dirt or turf. But is his bottom side too weak?

3. I too am holding a lot faith in Sarava. But he is a tad on the small side and I have not heard good things about him yet.

Keith, another great list from you. But one just doesnt settle with me

1. Congaree, his sire wasnt that great. He however was a great race horse and possibly the best miler in years.

FOS, I am a believer in Omega Code. He comes from a great female line that has produced sires. I just wish he could get two turns.

Derby2004,

1. Agreed at this juncture he's overpriced and Behrens was a flop, but Pleasant Colony also dropped Pleasant Tap (who's also at Lane's End) and that's the sort of career I think Pleasantly Perfect will have.

2. Again mare line is nice, but not completely necessary and I think this is a good-looking horse with a lot of heart.

3. I just have a feeling about him. He's small. He's plain. He was not much racehorse, but I dunno he makes me warm and fuzzy

I do have to say I did omit Chapel Royal (due to Coolmore's practice of being impatient with young sires), but I think he's got a shot as you noted in your list. Saarland also might do very well. I see him as being an all or nothing prospect.

I just hope that his fee doesnt end up like Pleasant Taps. To me Tap is worth more than 10k. Pleasantly Perfect will be managed well enough to support a 20k fee, I'm not holding my breath though. Peace Rules is a horse with a huge heart. Female family just hasnt produced enough for me to spend 15k on him. If he was at 7500 it would be a different story. But he might just make it. Ima hoping. Everyone has that horse that just gives them the warm fuzzies. Mine is Sweetsouthernsaint. Do you have any Saravas? Chapel Royal will make it based on sheer numbers. He has gotten quality though as well. At 10k, he is very much worth the gamble.
