I know which one you're talking about. He was weak on pedigree too :?

I looked to see what he brought and was stunned to see $485,000. Geez. He didn't look good to me at all and his female family isn't at all inspiring. I don't get it.

Well, I was the buyer on Hip 305... Big strapping Northern Afleet colt with a lovely walk. I don't know much about the sire, the page is light, bought strictly on the individual himself.

I saw him on Friday. I thought he might be a Came Home 'til I looked at his page. He looked too pretty to be a Northern Afleet. Nice colt.

Lord I thought you'd typed in an extra zero by accident. I saw a photo of him on Thoroughbred Champions and thought he looked kinda backwards. Shows what we know

Congrats Dray on your new addition!

Thanks austique. ageecee, he is strictly a pinhook. Hoby picked him and though not a fashionable sire, the physicality of the horse could not be overlooked. That's good money we paid for a Northern Afleet. It's a risky pinhook, but if Hoby liked him, that stamp of approval is good as gold to me.

Eh, I've heard a lot of positive talk about Northern Afleet. He's turning out to be a good race sire, even if he's not the most fashionable sales sire. He's no raving beauty, but he's powerfully built and solid. With the right physical type of mare, he's getting babies that look nice.

Congrats Dray 33 on your purchase. If Hoby likes him you are in great shape going into the 2007 2YO selling season. Is it to early to see what sale you plan to put him in. I assume it will be the OBS or Fasig Feb if you are trying to hit a home run.

Thanks all. We usually aim for the February Calder Selected Two-Year-Olds In Training Sale. Home run would be nice, I am hoping for a fair shake really.:D If he is the athlete I think he is, we should be fine. Hoby does a fantastic job of keeping his horses sound (including the mental part). Getting them ready for the 2 year-old sales must be a difficult task. He doesnt squeeze every drop of blood out of the horse during training... my kinda guy.

If they let them go for what seems like a low price, they more than likely knew they weren't worth much more.
