I thought he had a few good ones running in Ireland. I just purchased a mare in foal to him so I HOPE he has something going in the future.

Perhaps he will shuttle to Europe from NZ, he may find mares better suited to him there.

Who is the mare out of? I have a yearling out of a Storm Bird mare the hypo mating nuber I get is a GSV of 64.85 is that considered good and what do you think a far price to pay for her should have been. She is well put together.

My mare is Julie's Gem, by Judge Smells out of the SW mare, Conga Miss, by Dewan. I had perhaps different motives, I have my stallion, Rocking Trick. I really like Julie's Gem for Rocking Trick and the fact that she came with a Minardi in the oven was a bonus (I was at a small cataloged sale).

Without knowing more about your mare, I can't comment on the matchup. Minardi's stud fee was $5K here. Pricewise, if you figure on just a cost basis, $7K for your yearling.. of course selling prices for horses are rarely, if ever, based on cost.

Do you know who he was sold to in NZ as he hasn't been announced as standing here as yet.
