There is a horse racing up here called JAFTICA which seems simple enough but I laughed today when I discovered that it means "Just another f....ing thoroughbred I cannot afford'.

Like good names too

I have one named two-up which is a coin game played with 2 pennies, he is a copper colored chestnut by Toss of the Coin... Neat when names work out that way

Also have names that are not so great like FEAR, not really who he is so we modified it for a show name using the word FEAR

others I have had in barn, with weird names

Headfer texas
Lefabuleaux Knight
Putaspellonme
Chekote
Adissi
For Cat's Contessa
Stick Lady

I have one named Booties---thought it was for her big rump--but then discovered her mama is Overshoe and her daddy is Seattle Morn. They named all Overshoes babies after shoes. So we have decided to name all of Booties babies with the word SOLE??what do you think???She is bred to a stallion Summit Climber so put on some thinkin caps a play the game we got about 6 months to find a good name......Summits Sole??

I guess I'm in the minority but I think that name is just sad. If I ever felt that way about even one of my horses, I'd get out of the business.

HELLO it is suppose to be funny and a bit tongue and cheek... I do not think it is sad as much as a reflection of humor over a very expensive sport!

If you're going to tell me how I should feel, at least do it correctly. For obvious reasons, the expression is tongue in cheek.

Totally out of left field like you... I can enjoy and state my opinion! ENJOY and love everyday huh!

I come up with Hiking Boots. Unfortunately, they usually have lug soles. Doesn't sound too appealing.

Actually I met the Jaftica breeder/owner/trainer last week and she is very sweet and self-effacing, loves her horses and deserves lots of fun and success in an exasperating sport.

NOT TONITE DIER by Oh Dr Jim (Three Ohs) out of Cora Dier (Bolodier).

When we bought her, her barn name was "Lil Bit", but after 5-6 months, my son-in-law changed her name to "Lil Bitch". While she wasn't small, she was a bitch!

hi guys

Cunning Stunt was a name that clearly slid by the Jockey Club's names department.

Arguably it was a difficult name NOT to mess-up saying, even with best intentions.

Got a new foster guy in around Christmas last year. We started calling him FNG for fu....ing new guy. He was in such bad shape that one day I was talking to the vet and he said" boy, he has a lot going on" I said" Yeah He's a Trainwreck". Well, we then changed his barn name to, you guessed it....Trainwreck. Now before anyone starts giving me a hard time, I never called him these names to his handsome face. After much time and many prayers and lots of hard work, he awaits a new job............which does not include running for his supper.

You'll appreciate our friends' yearling colt's name, sired by Louis Quatorze.

How bout Hiking Booties? I know, no Sole, but cute name nonetheless!
