War Proposal AGAIN

Postby Roguelet » Sat Sep 09, 2006 9:19 pm

SHE'S BAAAACK.....

After a little "summer vacation" between Indiana meets, War Proposal will make her first start back at Hoosier on Wednesday. Apparently she's training well, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for some good racing luck.

If we EVER get a horse in an early race I swear I'll have a stroke...

She took third... I'm happy with that. She ran very well... she's not a fan of being on the rail, but in post position #2 in a short race, there wasn't much choice. I think she would've been happier to go wide around them and make her run on the outside, but that wasn't really an option in this race without taking her out of it.

She ended up less than a length behind the heavy favorite, and they were only one length behind the winner, so she was right there. Hopefully she'll improve off of this first race back after her little "vacation," and maybe we'll see the winner's circle next time out.

Definitely congratulations. It's always a good day when they come back safe, and when they bring money too, well it's an excellent day.

Well, she ran again on the first, but I was swamped and never got it posted here... not that you all missed anything; she ran 6th. I was ready to drop her in class, but the trainer said that she had to take the turn 7 wide and lost probably 5 lengths doing that. He feels she can win at the NW3 Allowance level, so we're trusting him and here we go again...

As usual, we're in the last race of the night. Thursday the 12th. I HATE always being in the last race, but oh well...

Oooh, last race of the night, the suspense will be killing. Still, good luck, and I hope your trainer's assessment turns out to be on the money and the horse ends up in the money, and of course stays safe.

We talked to the trainer before the race and he indicated that she was in TOUGH this time, so we weren't as optimistic as we had been previously. She ended up 5th... she broke very well and came on strong at the end, but needed to stay better placed in the middle of the race I think. She and the 4th place horse were pretty much one and the same at the wire, in eachother's shadows so to speak. I believe that she needs some added distance. She's won short, but I think she's a little better suited to go a bit longer. I'd like to see her try this NW3 allowance race long, but if they don't write it a tthe right time for her next try I think we'll drop her down a notch.

Can,t you pick up a carefully studied race for her, and gets her there in the best form.
So racing once a month and fitfighting??
Hope your luck turns

It still sounds like a promising run in many ways with options of a longer distance or a slight drop in class. Keep your hopes up.
