Looking for info on Cox's Ridge & 2 of his sons

I'd love information on Cox's Ridge & two of his sons:

1. Trapp Mountain [stands in TX]. and

2. Sundance Ridge [stands in MA]

Specifically, any information on soundness [and soundness of their offspring], temprament, and what these horses throw would be appreciated.

We recently accumulated a couple of Cox's Ridge's grandkids & I'm trying to find out more about him & the above 2 sires.

Cox's Ridge, big robust tough horse. Long in the back. Sound. Not usually the win early type, some turf ability.
He is the sire of the useful sire Out Of Place, and I also really like Eltish and Little Missouri.
Out of Place's offspring gets about 17 average lifetime starts.
Trapp Mountain started out in KY (I think), but was moved to Texas.

Sundance Ridge is a local breed-to-race sire and has a couple of New England champions to his credit. African Princess and full siblings Sunlit Ridge and Stylish Sultan earned YEA honors here, IIRC.

Trapp Mountain is a Texas based breed to race stallion that I've never seen in person, though he stands not too far away. I have seen many of his offspring on the track and have two thoughts about him from my impressions of his progeny -

1) As a group they are beautifully articulated and refined types. Perhaps a bit light of bone compared to many of today's very muscular "Clever Trick" types. They exhibit classic lines; are elegant and at times feminin in appearance.

2) As a group they tend to mature early, many posess early speed and despite those lighter frames and delicate appearing underpinnings they must be sound as a large number of them seem to make it to the track and compete regularly as 2 and 3YOs.

Other than that I can't say whether many have the durability to still be around at age 4 and up or if I've just not noticed those older individuals. Also when I've seen them run they have for the most part preferred to run on the front end of a race.....the good news is they're often still in the lead or give it up grudgingly only a step or two from the wire.

The well put together ones - from racey dams - that I've noted at sales have sold well.

Belated thanks for your opinions -- anyone able to scrounge up pictures will also be appreciated! I'm trying to see if one of my guys looks like his sire [Trapp Mountain] & if one of my mares resembles HER sire [Sundance Ridge]. As her dam also recently moved to our barn, I can already see what she got from her . . .

Have had a couple Cox's Ridge grandbabies OTTB to sporthorses and have really liked their minds, soundness and athleticism. The last 2 have been short in the back, tho, so maybe don't take after him? One had feet we thought would be bad but held shoes really well. The other has great feet.

Are you trying to breed a racehorse?

If so, I'm just curious why you are looking for a 22 year old horse who had 7 starts at Assiniboia & only managed one 3rd? [And if you are trying to breed a show horse, I'd still love to know what this particular stallion brings to the table.]

Anyhow, there are other Cox's Ridge-line horses out there who are outcrosses to Mr. Prospector who - at least on paper - are more deserving of a mare's attention.

Per The Bloodhorse stallion directory, Cox's Ridge sons in the northeastern part of the country who are advertised at stud & who are outcrosses to Mr. P include:

Ball's Bluff WV $1k
Eltish NY $3500
Gnarler OH Private

I'm not holding out Gnarler or Ball's Bluff as top stallion candidates, but they ran more than 7 times & at least found their way to the winner's circle a couple times each.

There are also some grandsons in the same part of the country - including our Mountain Top in Pennsylvania who is a graded stakes winner & a complete outcross to Native Dancer.

He stands by private treaty & I'm not offering him as an alternative stallion to the one you chose, because we stand him to very few outside mares, but just asking what there is about the particular stallion that you chose that attracted you?

yes I am trying to breed a SOUND race horse -

I own a mare named famous woman - she is by western fame & is from the mr propsector family of west by west and gone west - she in fact looks like gone west

she was fast on the track and the man that I got her from claimed her at santa anita - she is a cal bred

she can run and has a tremendous heart - I had wanted to send her to eltish but I didn't have the stud fee and other expenses - she is a real nice mare and deserves the best that I can breed her to -
