I debated about posting this or not...but relatively speaking...Storm Halo did quite well at the sale.

They gave her hip #1 (kiss of death). I didn't even think she'd sell, especially with a reserve, but she did. Of the horses I know of that went through the sale, she was the second highest selling horse. (Not too shabby considering she's a weanling filly and was up against $100K stakeswinners in foal to good regional stallions and two-year-olds in training). We're certainly not talking big bucks here, but I figure we made a small profit, so it's all good.

The most important thing to us is that she went to an excellent home. Now...hopefully we'll just sit back and collect the NM and Breeders Cup incentives on her for several years. (::: crossing fingers :::) She was tough to part with. *sniff* I think my barn manager took it even harder than we did.

I have been promised pics of her. I'll post 'em when I get 'em.

Meanwhile, we've got five on the way for next spring -- two in February, two in March, one in April.

Big pat on the back to you! Congrats! We all share the crappy stuff - you should share the good stuff too! Let us see her pics and we'll all be sharing photos come spring (hopefully). YOU DID GOOD. You should be proud. We're all proud and happy for you. Let us know when she starts training!

Thanks, Cheryl. :D

Let me know how yours do, too. Oh, I just found out that Africa's half-brother by Holy Bull is going through (or maybe went through by now) Fasig-Tipton -- Hip 585.

BTW, I love your Jimmy Buffet quote.

I've been meaning to write to update you. Ended up scratching both boys and moving them to January - long story. And thanks - my momma always warned me about the freaks out there - turned out I was one of them (ha). As the granddaughter would say "wheeeeee" and "life is a highway - I'm gonna drive it all night long" - she is a character from Cars this month :).

I'll keep you posted.

How you like my Avatar???? Sam taught me how to do it!!!
