older bloodlines,durability as a race horse,older stallions?

is there older royaly bred stallions out there that shouldnt be left out for breeding? digamist,quarry,lucky north,or any others. id like your opinions on the lets say vintage bloodlines? breakdowns are getting more prevalent, as well as horses ending careers at 2. how many could you arguably come up with that still can produce a value added bloodline,without using their progeny as a major factor? based more on bloodlines? and that might throw a distance foal?
