Here's a headscratching question

Postby Rokeby Forever » Mon Dec 25, 2006 12:22 am

Has a gray stallion and a gray broodmare (both born gray) ever produced a Grade 1 winner? That's a tough one, huh?

Anyone have a clue?

Evening Attire is one that I can think of. By Black Tie Affair (gr) out of Concolour (gr), won the Jockey Club Gold Cup.

Another one is Heavenly Cause, champion 2 yr old filly, won 5 Gr I. By Gray Dawn, out of Lady Dulcinea, both gray horses,

Give the man a cigar!!! I'm now a Georgerz fan!

I came up with Shy Dawn, a late running sprinter on the NYRA circuit in the 1970s, but I don't know if she ever won a Grade 1.

Have you had too much eggnog? Or are you into the hard drugs?

When did I say anything about gray horses?

Of more recent vintage is Buddha, by Unbridled's Song, out of Cahooters, winner of the Wood Memorial Gr I in 2002, well vilified in other posts.

Buddha? As someone eloquently put it, "the plague"? Does he have to count, George? *sigh*

Jimble - maybe what you wrote got lost in the translation to me. Apologies.
