What I'm saying (the point you keep missing) is that JL isn't a Steve Cauthen 16 year old - he had been riding long enough so that giving him 10 pounds (especially on the turf) was actually a license to steal. I didn't say he was too old to be a bug or that he's undeserving of the Eclipse...I'm saying that he's no "beginner" as 99% of bugs are, and that the judges should weigh their decision accordingly.
Suppose a country (let's say XYZ) has a rule that a rider's career starts over once he/she steps foot on that country's soil. Would it be fair to let a good young rider from the US (pick any one of them) get 10 pounds in XYZ as a beginning apprentice?
