boy, so far the civilisations running at ctown are showing nothing. i'm wondering if it's got to do with the 4.5F races they all seem to be running. hopefully, they're late bloomers, need more distance, want turf, or all of the above. there are a few working in maryland so maybe they'll do better going 7F+.

What do you thinbk of Civilisation;s stable mate Limit Out?
He does not have Civilisation;s pedigree by has 16 winners out of 21 starters and I belive four of those are stakes winners or at least stakes placed. Sure beats 1 out odf 12.
I have an 06 WRERK A++ Civilisation colt out of a Concern/Dixieland Band/Mr P mare and am trying to decide if i want to go to Civilisation again or try someone else for a February breeding. I like the clot and the ND and Mr P live breeding bit am concerned with Civilisations one winner in 12 starters.
I do have to admit my two 06 Civilisation colts look more like router than sprinters and maybe that's the problem.

hey griff, i was wondering if you would see my post. i'm not familiar w/limit out and i'm the worst when it comes to breeding/bloodlines but hey, winners is winners. i also have a mare i'm thinking of sending back to civilisation. i have her three-year old and i'm waiting to see if he shows anything. like you, i'm thinking he'll like a distance much more than scooting around ctown.

What's your Civilisation 3 Y-O's name? and where are you racing him??
look up Hot Stiff pending on this data base and tell me what you think of his dosage.
I don't think you'll find a better pedigree than Civilisations and i can't belive that pedigree is not producing better than a one winner in 12 starters even if that are running short races.
limit Out's pedigree is OK it's just not up to Civilisation's; however 80% winners is impressive and I believe 25% of those are stakes winners.

Curious, I checked out Civilisation's pedigree. Nice.
What's the story on him, though? The database says he only has one eye and three starts, no shows. If he is just getting his first runners now, what was he doing in between his three starts and siring his first foals? And did he lose the eye in an accident?

John Chandler: Yes, that's the (Civilization).
Tim Price: Was that a Gone West colt?
John Chandler: Yes, that was a Gone West. He was the same way. And then he had an accident and lost an eye and we didn't persevere with him. But he was -- he actually -- kind of -- he was more like his more than -- actually in training than any of them. Because sometimes he'd be working, and then he'd just start slowing up. And she used to do that. And -- but he had some ability. He obviously, we had quite a bit of ability. But as I said, they had the unfortunate accident and then couldn't -- we couldn't -- we didn't persevere with him after that.
Tim Price: It was a (paddock) accident?
John Chandler: Yes.
Tim Price: And his name was Civilisation?
John Chandler: Civilisation spelled the English way with an S as opposed to a Z.
Tim Price: OK. Thank you.

I have a friend with four Civilisations running and has not had any problems with any of them.. They do seems to do much better as 3 YOs than a 2YOs and he has an 04 gelding out of a Polish Numbers mare [longlegged beastie] that is doing very well
I have two 06 Civilisation yearlings that will let me walk up to them in an open pasture and pick up their feet.

the civilisations are starting to wake up. his first crop as two-year olds and early three collectively didn't show much. looks like trainers are running them longer also, instead of those scoot-n-boot 4.5F races at ctown. there's one running 1 1/16 on the turf at colonial today. i'll be interested to see how he does.
